Day 1 of camping on the secret gili’s

In Kuta Lombok, you will be picked up by a cab for an adventurous ride to the port, which takes about 1.5 hours. From there it is only 15 minutes by boat to the first islet, Gili Nanggu! Here you can dive straight into the crystal clear waters and enjoy beautiful coral reefs.

After a refreshing swim and spotting countless fish, it’s time for a delicious lunch at Gili Sudak. Take time to relax, enjoy good food and, of course, snorkel again.

Then we continue to the last islet: Gili Kedis. This small but beautiful island is the perfect place to spend the night. The beers are chilled, American football is played, guitar is played and you can take a refreshing dip in the crystal clear water.

During sunset, the campfire is lit and food is prepared! And then it’s time for music and lots of fun under the stars before we fall asleep under the stars.

Schedule:

9:30 a.m.: Pick up by cab
10:30 a.m.: Arrival at the port
11:30 a.m.: Arrival at Gili Nanggu
1:30 p.m.: Arrive at Gili Sudak for lunch
4:30 p.m.: Arrival at Gili Kedis.

Day 2: Waking up with a View

Okay you won’t sleep very well here, but man what an experience it is to wake up here. In the end, we chose to lie on a mat outside in the sand. Like my dear friend are: when will you really sleep on the beach for once!

While coffee simmers and breakfast is prepared, there is time for a refreshing morning sunrise swim. This morning is all about waking up quietly and enjoying the surroundings before returning to Kuta Lombok.

From Gili Kedis we take the boat back to the port, where our cab to Kuta is already waiting for us.

Camping or Cramming

The camping itself is simple and basic. For example, there are not always enough tents, but you can always sleep dry in the gazebos located on the grounds. We slept there not top! But with such an environment WHO CARES!
